STUDIES IN COMPARATIVE INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT JOURNAL
Studies in Comparative International Development (SCID) Journal is an interdisciplinary academic journal that addresses political, social, economic, and environmental change in local, national, and international contexts.
In 2013 I served as co-editor of the SCID journal. Drawing from my interdisciplinary understanding of international development and global inequality, I reviewed and evaluated article submissions (approximately 15 articles/month) for readability, scholarly rigor, and theoretical and empirical contributions relating to international development and political economy. SCID article submissions came from various disciplines (political science, economics, sociology, anthropology, and geography), addressed multiple theoretical traditions, and covered diverse geographical and topical areas.
In this role, I collaborated with the SCID editorial board (both within and outside of Brown University) to evaluate article submissions, edit accepted manuscripts, and finalize articles for publication. I also maintained regular communication with authors and Springer Publishing regarding submission timelines, review procedures, editorial guidelines, and the publication of special issues.
