COMPARING URBAN INDIA and URBAN CHINA
Managed by Dr. Ashutosh Varshney (Political Science, Brown University) this mixed-method research initiative compared urbanization trends and political outcomes in urban India and urban China.
As the primary research assistant on this project, I conducted an extensive literature review on urban/rural inequality in China, Chinaʼs hukou system, and intra-rural and intra-urban inequality in India. I drafted a summary of the main findings comparing trends in urban India and urban China, which was to be included in an academic article on urbanization and inequality in India and China.
